Norman Brewer, 76, died December 19, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 4, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to Clyde and Harriett Brewer. Norman attended Tech High School and graduated in 1952. After completing his service in the Army, he had a long career in broadcasting, including radio and television. He worked for WMC channel 5 from 1958 to 1974 as a reporter, news anchor, and news director. He joined WREG channel 3 in 1995 as a daily commentator. In addition, Norman was also an editorial writer for the Commercial Appeal, speech writer, and published author.
